The TV Throwdown has been on an extended hiatus, simply because television has been on an extended hiatus. There have been little pockets of life – 24, Hoarders, Gray’s – but, in general, it’s been pretty weak. But tonight, EVERYTHING… CHANGES.

buh-BAM! Can you deal with that?

Lost is back. Set your twitter apps to follow #LOST. It’s going to rock your face off. I don’t care if I have to wait and start it at midnight after everyone has gone to bed, this is going to be an event. I should go order some BBQ wings, Pringles, and a Snuggie… be right back. SWEET, I totally scored a free portable book light with my Snuggie order.

Seriously, though, this show is poised to prove itself as either the greatest sci-fi/drama/mystery in the history of television or the biggest disappointment since Scott Hall’s latest return to TNA.

Occupying the #2 slot on my DVR is this little gem.

Sorry baby, the doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital are going to have to wait… Rupert and Russell are back. But at the end of the day, I’m pulling for Colby. It’s his time.

So, tell me, am I alone in this or will the entire spring television season rest on the back of these two programs. Feel free to disagree with me, but know that I’ll taunt you mercilessly if you do.

I had to re-read this as I knew it couldn’t be from my son as I know he doesn’t like Survivor. I am very excited about this new season of Survivor as it is bringing back many of my favorites..Stephanie, Colby & Tom the fireman! I hope one of the “good guys” wins this season.

I have been watching Lost since it started and to be honest, I am glad it is coming to an end. I want answers and I hope they answer some of the many questions I have.

Mom, no, this was definitely not from me.

Vivian and I have decided that once Lost is over that we’ll pick it up and try to watch it on DVD to see if we’d be interested. Ryan, Mom, do you think once it’s over this will be a series that will be successful on DVD for newcomers like me?

  • I think that the only way to possibly watch it is from the beginning and with as little knowledge as possible. I’ve been thinking about taking my wife back to the beginning of it, but I think that she’s seen too much of the last two seasons for it to truly be great from the beginning.

Last night melted my face off. I think that it’s going to be genius.

I think like Ryan said if you start from the beginning with an open mind, it would be worth it. But to jump into it at any other time would be way too confusing for anyone..even my brainac son!!

Let me say that my hubby and I have really enjoyed having Leverage back. We really like that show and it seems like the hour it is on goes by so fast. I also personally welcomed back with open arms Chuck. Don’t know if I am totally OK with the whole Spy Chuck on purpose , but I am having a wait and see attitude.

Vivian and I both love Leverage and Chuck respectively. Timothy Hutton is great as the leader of the band of criminals-turned-good, and Chuck is just Chuck.

It’s sad to hear the news that they are canceling Ugly Betty after the season ends in March. I know we are some of the few who watch it, but it was one of the few shows that had heart.

television has been on hiatus since the last season of lost? hardly.

as mentioned above, leverage and chuck are both great shows. so much better than lost. we’ve had a season of friday night lights that’s just as good as the first season and the past season of dexter was amazing and so much better than the two before it. all of these shows are better than lost. community, 30 rock, both amazingly funny shows… much better than lost.

dan, i wouldn’t even wade into lost at this point. the first season is great, the second season is just ok, 3rd gets a little better… but they lost me with the season finale of 4. it’s one of the most ridiculous things i’ve ever watched and i lost all respect for the show. i watched season five out of curiosity, but i’m not sure i can even bring myself to watch this last season.
