When they first started making Narnia films, I was afraid that they wouldn’t have the momentum to make it all the way to Book 3 – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which is by far my favorite in the series. At the time, we were just coming off of the Lord of the Rings and right in the middle of Harry Potter. But, it looks as though they are going to continue with the series as long as their income surpasses their budget (which has to be huge).
I hope you’re not tired of all of these incredible trailers because we’ve got one more for you, and this one, to me, takes the cake. Paramount has released the second official trailer of J.J. Abram’sStar Trek, which opens on May 8, 2009. This trailer is beautiful! I am not the biggest Trek fan, I never really watched any of the TV shows nor did I see an entire Star Trek film before this one, but all of that doesn’t matter, THIS Star Trek movie is at THE TOP of my list of movies to see this summer.
This feels epic, raw, and emotional, 3 words I didn’t think I would use to describe something belonging to Star Trek. I know it’s only a trailer, but if the trailer is ANYTHING like what we will see this summer, I think we are in for a heck of a ride. Check it out and let me know if you are a believer now…because I am.
Do you think this movie will satisfy both Trekkies and new comers alike?
Tuesday’s are obviously the day when ToC posts all of the trailers and TV spots we can get our hands on, and I know you all think you’ve already seen the Transformers trailer during the Super Bowl, but you haven’t, this is the full version. Not the full trailer, but the full TEASER trailer.
Another big action movie that I will definitely be checking out this summer is Sony’s The Taking of Pelham 123. Directed by action movie king Tony Scott (of the Ridley Scott family), it’s a remake of the same 1974 movie that starred Walter Matthau, but in this remake, Denzel Washington is a subway officer who is in a cat-and-mouse hijacking game with “bad guy” John Travolta.
You can expect some of the same type of action like you’ve seen in Top Gun, Enemy of the State, Spy Game, and the latest, Deja Vu, with Denzel playing his typical “down-in-the-dump-disgruntled-officer-who-has-to-fight-bad-guys-and-then-discovers-who-he-really-is” role. I am a sucker for Denzel’s action movies and I guess you could call them one of my guilty pleasures.
Sony has just released the first full-length trailer for the film and I gotta tell you, it doesn’t fail to get me excited:
