The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Warner Bros. has to decide within the week who will dawn the ring and play The Green Lantern. Warner Bros. has spent the past five months, along with director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti, searching for the right actor to portray Hal Jordan, the hot-shot Air Force pilot who is chosen by a dying alien to be his successor in an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lanterns. There have been many actors that have been rumored to be in the running and many actors that have screen tested: rapper-turned-actor Common, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Philippe, Nathan Fillion, Ryan Gosling, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto are a few.

As of right now, it’s down to three guys: Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, and (I’m serious) Justin Timberlake. All of them have been through two rounds of screen tests and it seems that the producers each have their own favorite, making the decision even harder.

The Green Lantern is scheduled for a 2010 Christmas opening.
