Viv, I definitely agree that with Jacob's cut hair, he will not quite fit as a Native American but I feel he passed it off with the long hair. He would have to wear stilts or really tall shoes to pass off the almost 7 feet appearance he gets in the 4th book so that is an issue. Ha!

I wanted my favorite dialogue as well and hope that they do better with the next movies. The Meadow scene was completely screwed up and that was very upsetting to me and many other fans.

The woman director and screenwriter for the first film disappointed me. I agree with Traci, as long as guys for the next film get it right, I don't care whether they are male, female, or a shim. I think the teens liked the Jacob in the movie, but he was not my Jacob from the book- not tall enough for one. Unfortunately they can't make him tall and lanky in a year's time. He didn't look Native American enough to me either, especially after he would have to get his hair cut for the next movie. Rob wasn't my Edward either, but he did just fine. I just wished they hadn't messed with all my favorite dialogue.

Ok so here is the female perspective this review needs. First of all, I don't care who directs it as long as it holds true to Stephenie Meyer's awesome books. Second, I think that the majority of the Twilight fans really liked the Jacob that was in the movie. Also, I agree with Ryan- we all will see it no matter what because it is TWILIGHT!!!! Thanks for listening.

Ive been thinking about this for a minute or two...I think that the studio might be reacting to the fan draw and trying to capitalize a little too much too soon.

My take is that there may be a danger in trying to rush the second movie so soon. Dont know what your feelings are.

I hope that they dont cave into the fans every wish and demand and stick with some of the actors and even this new director.

For all we know the new direction may make them even more money and make them a larger fan base! Time will tell and any buzz over this stuff maybe what they need to keep the momentum alive and the fans interested in the happenings of the movie/book series.

I encourage you all to check out www.twilightseriestheories.com for your latest Twilight concerns and happenings!

Sounds like that the casting people weren't anticipating this 'young adult' novel to be so widespread with the women of our day! Who would've known that 30-40 year old women would be swooning over a YA novel? Makes you wonder if they had cast some 'hunk' as Harry Potter, would the same thing happen? haha anyways I digress. I'll probably wait until the movie is on DVD to watch it. I am curious what the draw is. I might get the book from the library and try reading it too.. maybe...

Yeah, I just read that they are looking into re-casting the Jacob character because the current one isn't old enough, or doesn't look manly enough.

That seems like a casting problem that should have been dealt with before Twilight ever came out in the first place.

@Ryan, dude, you can't run from the phenomenon forever. Sooner or later, either your wife, your mom, your sister, your cousin, someone is going to turn you onto Twilight and you'll have to face your indifference.

Let me begin with, Twilight... I don't care.

Beyond that, I think that having a man direct a love story is fine. I think that it often helps keep things grounded. Let's face it, women are going to watch the film no matter who directs it. And, if a chick can direct the new Punisher movie (haven't seen it) or Lords of Dogtown, then a guy can direct their vampire romance.
