One of my most anticipated movies this year is Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock, Jude Law as Dr. John Watson, and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler.
We haven’t seen anything in the form of footage from the film and there really hasn’t been that many interesting photos to come out, so my anticipation is based solely on the fact that an action/mystery thriller starring Robert Downey sounds good to me. In my opinion, if he was starring as a lemonade stand operator, I would still see the film.
Latino Review snapped a picture of the first teaser poster that we get to see and in my opinion, though it is exciting to finally see some OFFICIAL material, it’s not that exciting. I love Downey in all of his Sherlock Holmes garb, with his glasses and pipe, but it doesn’t add to anything we’ve already seen. I’m not going to criticize it to death as it’s only a teaser, but being the first OFFICIAL image we get, you’d think Warner Brothers would have given us a little more?

What do you think?

Give you more…they are trying to make you want more! And if you look at it that way, that’s genius! I think that too much too soon is a bad practice. Give me more at the end of summer to remind me that there will be something do during Christmas! It is what it is…a tease! Because I bet you even the average movie fan didnt know he’s doing this movie. Faithful ToC followers…we, of course, know better!
Dan I would agree…this does nothing to spike my interest in the movie, but I already knew that he was doing the movie. Seeing this poster is like the letter home from camp when you would write you mom…all is well…I’m alive!
Yeah…RDjr is BANKING his comeback from last year.

If Harry Potter and Sweeney Todd had a child… this is what he would look like.
Should have done a focus on the title design with a cool London/England backdrop or wherever it takes place.
Quick hiring these phonies to design weak posters and hire me!

I’ll be watching this, for sure. Robert Downey Jr. made a good comeback last year. I look forward to seeing more of what he can do.
