It's funny to watch it now and laugh at the violence that then seemed really scary and intense. I wish horror movies would just stick to really messed up people, not ghosts or mists or hockey players or dream killers, just good ole' fashioned psychos. Bring back the writer/director duo and I may be on board. I'm even ok with a restart concept so long as we're starting from scratch and firmly rooted in reality (as it were). That is what the first batch of films had going for it. No Freddy in your dreams or Jason who can't die. No crazy apparitions or spider-like stair walking. Just some crazy guys with an attitude.
