Traci, currently it's still in development which means that nothing is really moving on it. Jack Black won't return unless the script is better than the first and the original director, Richard Linklater, comes back as well.

So, as of right now, it's still just stuck in "development."

Dan, has there been any new developments on this movie? I loved the first one so I would definitely see the second one out of loyalty. =) But it probably won't be as good.

My wife and I did also enjoy the first movie, but like I said, it was a good movie for what it was, I don't think it's going to be helped by a sequel.

I actually liked the first one. I even convinced my wife to watch it a few weeks back when it came on TV.
I have to agree, however, that it is not a movie deserving of a sequel.
I think that there was a documentary called "Rock School." That was the reality of what the "School of Rock" movie was based on.

I think that I enjoyed the music of the movie more than the movie itself! But I did enjoy the movie!

I think that a sequel is stretching it. I dont think that they are related, but someone tried a series with Gene Simmons teaching kids and I believe they called it "Gene Simmons: School of Rock." Dont believe it did very well.

Unless done better than the first movie, I doubt it would be a successful sequel. I hope that they take their time and really develop the script before rushing to shoot it.

If there will be one aspect of the movie that I would look forward to, it will be the music they look at, play, explore...yada yada.
