Whatever you’re planning on doing this summer as far as movies go, make sure at least TWO things happen: 1) You make the time and the effort to see Christopher Nolan’s “Inception“, and 2) you do whatever it takes to see Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.”
Last week, Edgar Wright started an intense marketing campaign to get people to become “fans” of the film on Facebook and if it reached 100,000 fans, then he would release the 2nd full length trailer for all of us to enjoy! After a Memorial Day Weekend bonanza of fans lining up and lending their “hand” to the cause, we were rewarded with a brand new trailer that completely blows the first teaser trailer out of the water.
I’ve included the official synopsis below for those that are still scratching their heads as to what this movie is about.
Synopsis:
Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for totally average garage band Sex Bob-omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams…literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him. Genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) tells the amazing story of one romantic slacker’s quest to power up with love in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass—and now is back in town—to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past—from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

I love it! This is going to be really sweet. It looks like there’s a really cool melding of film and comic book going on here and Cera might not be exactly the same character he always is. I’m a little worried about content, though… fingers crossed for an awesome ride.

Steven, yeah, I hope it’s PG-13 or something and not R. I can see them going south real fast with sexual content if they get an R rating.
