Thought I didn’t catch it this past year, from what I saw, Hugh Jackman was an excellent host that brought new blood to an awards ceremony that was getting more stale by the minute. He was a very classy and professional host throughout the show and added a spark that was much needed…
I say all of that to lead you into the news that has come out that he has turned down the hosting duties for this year’s Oscars ceremony. Though he doesn’t rule out future hosting gigs, he just didn’t want to host two years in a row. I can’t blame the guy. I think it’s great he’s going out, at least for now, on top.
So, that brings us to the inevitable question: Who is going to host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards? Personally, I hope they stay with their “revitalizing” trend and find someone like Neil Patrick Harris (he’s rumored to already have the gig), Conan O’ Brien, or maybe even someone completely out of the blue like George Clooney or Matt Damon.
Who do you think should host this year’s Oscars? Who do you think they should completely not even consider?
