Warner Bros. have finally released some teaser posters for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. These posters look amazingly dark and brooding, which, if you’ve read the books, is exactly what this book’s story is about.

What I Think About Harry Potter
I can’t wait to see this movie in the theaters. I have only seen the previous 5 films on DVD and after reading the books this past summer, I am anxiously looking forward to experiencing Harry Potter on the big screen.
I fought for a long time that I wouldn’t cave to the main stream pressure of Harry Potter-dom, but after a couple of arousing recommendations from good and quality friends, I thought I would let my pride down and give it a shot. After successfully completing the series over a course of the entire summer, I finally saw why they were so popular. J.K. Rowling is a wonderful story teller in my opinion. I was glued to every page of every book. I had always passed “kids and wizardry” off as hokey and cheesy, a more “kiddy” version of Lord of the Rings, but once I moved past the ignorance and let myself become engrossed into the story, I was blown away.
When I reported back in August that this film would be delayed until the summer of 2009, there was a TON of backlash from the long-time fans. Every fan, from what I understand, was used to looking forward to the holiday season when the newest Harry Potter film would warm and fill their “feel good” tummies, so the news of having to wait 8 months for the next installment was not taken well. A lot of people speculated that because of the popularity and subsequent release of Twilight this past holiday season, that Hollywood, and more importantly Warner Bros. studios, didn’t want to compete with the new “teenage vampire flick.” Some were calling Twilight the “Harry Potter for teenagers” while others just assumed, which is probably the case, that Warner Bros. wanted to add Harry Potter to its already tent-pole collection of releases this summer. (Watchmen, Terminator:Salvation, Harry Potter)
Let me know what you think about them. If you aren’t into Harry Potter, do these posters intrigue you, excite you, make you at least curious?

Personally I am so excited about the new HP movie this summer, I was very disappointed about the delay when I heard. And I’m definitely feeling the new posters, sweet tag-line on the first one.

With the slump/strike of 08…this might be the movie that makes or breaks the late summer movie season. Seems a lot of the block busters are going to be out in May, so this could make for a huge splash for the latter summer swing.
I hope it does well. Seems the longer they wait to make the later movies, the hype/excitement for the movies is beginning to dwindle. Dont know how everyone else feels about that!
