From the department of “Holy Cow!! Really?!” comes word that during the Book of Eli panel at Comic Con, when asked about the Dark Knight sequel, Commissioner Gordon himself (Gary Oldman) said:

I think the next Batman is next year. We start shooting next year. You didn’t hear that from me.

The reactions that I am seeing throughout the blogosphere and Twittersphere are that Oldman wasn’t joking when he said this. Whether or not this is BREAKING NEWS or just Oldman trying to get the crowd going remains to be seen.
