Movie News (10/22/2008): Back in September, when it was revealed that Kenneth Branagh was in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of Thor, many wondered what a Branagh superhero Thor would look like. Well, it won’t be James Bond himself, Daniel Craig. IESB reported that Marvel actually offered him the lead role and he laughingly turned it down.
Discussion: So, I think this is a good move on his part as this would be a wrong role for him and would require too much imagination to see him as Thor, which begs the question, who could/should play Thor?

glad it’s not Craig. Heard talk of Brad Pitt (I kind of see it). I say, go back and get the guy who played Thor in Adventures in Babysitting (anybody?)

I also heard that Brad Pitt was interested in the role…hmm don’t see that either…but then I wouldn’t have thought Downey Jr would have been a real good Iron Man either.

As of right now the list of actors being considered are:
Brad Pitt
Alexander Skarsagard
Karl Urban
Sean Bean
What do you think?

Brad’s too old now. Plus that would dampen his role as Achilles in Troy…what’s he going to do…look the same?
Give me Karl Urban all the way. He was good in the roles he had in Lord of the Rings and in the Bourne movie he was in. I think that he’s the best suited of the bunch with his look, experience.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Thor comics, so I really can’t picture anybody. I always thought he was a lame character, but that’s just my humble opinion…..
