Truth On Cinema Downtime Explained
There’s something so awesome about gritty crime dramas that take place in or around Boston. I think it was when I first saw The Departed that I fell in love with those genre of films. The accents, the city, the community aspect of the people of Boston, I love it all! As we begin talking about the 2010 Fall Movie Season, I think we may have found the next great crime drama.
The Green Lantern is a comic book franchise that has been running under the radar for a while and today we have our first official look of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, The Green Lantern.
For those that are in the dark about what is going on and what has been going on, let me try and catch you up with all of the craziness involving Marvel, Edward Norton as “The Hulk”, The Avengers film, and how they all relate to each other.
In what has been an absolutely tiring merry-go-round of would-be actors vying for the starring role in Columbia Pictures’ franchise reboot of Spider-Man, we FINALLY get word of who will be shooting the spidey web at baddies….with teen angst.
I know we briefly showed you a fuzzy clip from the MTV Awards a few weeks back, but as of right now, forget you ever saw that! Warner Bros. has finally debuted the FIRST FULL trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Our fantasies are coming true Lord of the Rings fans: Peter Jackson is in FINAL negotiations to direct the next two Hobbit films! Following all of the press about Guillermo del Toro leaving and wondering whether or not the films were even going to be made, it’s such a relief to know that Jackson is going back to The Shire and delivering us what we always wanted in the first place.
When they first started making Narnia films, I was afraid that they wouldn’t have the momentum to make it all the way to Book 3 – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which is by far my favorite in the series. At the time, we were just coming off of the Lord of the Rings and right in the middle of Harry Potter. But, it looks as though they are going to continue with the series as long as their income surpasses their budget (which has to be huge).
Following the shocking news of Guillermo del Toro leaving The Hobbit, many fans, including myself, have been wondering whether or not the beloved franchise will ever see the light of day. No new director has been announced and so far, we don’t know anything about the production of the film, and if it’s even going to happen…but, lo and behold, Gandalf himself, by way of Sir Ian McKellan’s Twitter, has come out and assuaged all of our worries with one Tweet.
