Wolverine Talks X-Men Future

Movie News (5/1/08): As we begin the month of May and kick off the summer movie series, an interview done with Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, reveals some interesting notes about the upcoming X-Men spin-off, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” slated to open on May 9th, 2009…

Here are some excerpts from his interview which can be viewed in full here

On the tone of the movie:
“Tonally, I would put it more in the ‘Batman Begins’ sort of realm. That’s sort of where we’re headed…we are dealing with a character who is probably one of the darker comic book characters ever created. The movie has a lot of fun elements, but there are layers of pain and darkness to this character”

On the possibility of doing sequels:
“I really wanted to do this spin-off movie, because I felt we hadn’t truly found who this character was. Right now. I feel like I could do another ten or eleven.”

Yeah, I’ve heard a few mumblings about the movie, as Ron Howard has done his best to keep things quiet, but the latest that I have heard is…

Ewan McGregor is going be playing, “Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca,” also known as Janus, the late pope’s closest aide who initially helps Langdon in the investigation.

And that Israelian actress Ayelet Zurer will be playing “Vittoria Vetra” the female lead.
