The little calendar on my desk tells me it’s Thursday, which could only mean that it’s time for our Weekly Round Table where you can discuss anything as long as it deals with TV, Movies, Comic Books, or Truth On Cinema itself.
Movie News (10/29/2008): For those that are keenly cued into the comic book movie universe of Marvel and S.H.I.E.L.D comes some great news about the future of the Marvel films…Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. are confirmed and locked in for The Avengers movie set to debut in May of 2011. In an official press release its been confirmed that Downey has just signed a four-picture deal with Marvel Studios that retroactively includes the first “Iron Man”, two sequels to that, and “The Avengers” movie.
Made of Honor is another in a long line of mediocre romantic comedies that try to cash in on a TV star’s fame hoping that the TV following will….well, follow.
Movie News (10/28/2008): Sorry for the lack of movie news this past week, but I am back with some hot remake news. Zac Efron, everyone’s favorite teen heartthrob, will be starring in a revival of Footloose, written by Nick and Norah’s Peter Sollett and directed by High School Musical and Hannah Montana’s Kenny Ortega. Paramount is fast-tracking the film and wants moviegoers to know that this movie will be aimed at older moviegoers, not the High School Musical crowd Efron has created.
Today is Thursday and that could only mean 2 things:
1. It’s time for our Weekly Round Table where you can talk about anything you want as long as it’s based around Movies, TV, Comic Books, or Truth On Cinema itself.
2. Tomorrow is Friday!
Movie News (10/22/2008): Back in September, when it was revealed that Kenneth Branagh was in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of Thor, many wondered what a Branagh superhero Thor would look like. Well, it won’t be James Bond himself, Daniel Craig. IESB reported that Marvel actually offered him the lead role and he laughingly turned it down.
Movie News (10/17/2008): I reported back in February about the possibility of a 4th Bourne movie, and it looks like the rumors were and are true. The 4th installment of the very successful Bourne series has finally secured its writer, and it’s none other than George Nolfi, who was co-writer of the third film.
When I first saw this movie, it was in the theaters, long before Truth On Cinema was alive, and I came away thinking it was a great movie. After watching it again on DVD, would I come away with the same conclusion, or would I grow bored?
Movie News (10/16/2008): JJ Abrams has finally released images of his remake of Star Trek exclusively online only. We at Truth On Cinema have collected all of the images here for your viewing pleasure.
It’s Thursday, so it’s time for our weekly discussion post where I open the forum to you folks.
Talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Truth On Cinema itself. If you want to throw comic books into the mix, that’s fine too.
