I share my opinions on movies with everyone I come into contact with, and in fact, most people who know me know that I love movies, because I’ve probably waxed on about them for hours. I’ve researched enough, watched enough, studied enough, and lived long enough to have developed some pretty concise and honest opinions about movies, opinions that a lot of people disagree with, yet respect because of their intensity and the passion delivered behind them. I want to help people in their movie watching decision process. I know that there are a lot of movie reviewers out there, but I think what I offer is a more personal touch to the movie reviewing process.
Truth On Cinema is solely run, designed, and maintained by me, Daniel DeHart. For as long as I can remember, movies have been important to me. I love to watch them and let them take me away to another place, a place where I am the strongest, the smartest, the tough guy, the nerd-who-gets-the-girl, the jock who gets it in the end, the anti-hero that everyone loves to hate, and all of the other characters that make up a movie. I really love everything about movies, from the director, to the producer, to the screenwriter, to the story board artist, to the boom mic operator, to the DP (director of photography), to the 2nd AD (2nd Assistant Director), to the novel that the movie was probably adapted from, to the studio that funded the movie, to the production office that green lighted the project in the beginning…and all that passion over time creates some intense opinions about movies. I am an average married guy, working an 8-5 job, I love to spend time with my family, and I have an intense passion for movies. I’m not going to litter my reviews with words that make no sense or that require you to grab a dictionary. I’m going to tell you like I see it. I feel very strongly and I want to share that with you.
I want Truth On Cinema to become a community of movie goers and passionate media lovers who love to debate, discuss, and wax on all that’s involved in movies and media. When you read something I write, you and I become part of a community. I like listening from people, their suggestions, ideas and thoughts.
