Movie News (2/28/08): It seems the upcoming actors strike is causing some studios to delay production on some movies. Dark Horizons has the link to the story here.
If I told you I was going to make a movie where I would have the great Christopher Walken married to female-fat-suit-wearing John Travolta and that their offspring would be an average looking, short, stocky girl who actually beats out very attractive girls to be the star dancer on a teeny-bopper TV show starring X-Men’s own Cyclops and High School Musical’s Zack Efron, would you ever even think of investing 1 cent into it?
I decided to take a little aside and let you in on what I think was the origin of where my movie passion came from.
It all started with the Oscars. When I was a little boy, my mom, my sister and I used to sit around the TV and watch the Oscars all the way [...]
Movie Rumors: An article at Variety detailing what’s going on with Universal Pictures has dropped some interesting facts about the supposed “dead” Bourne franchise.
In the weirdest news to come down the wire today, it looks like the Writers Strike has done enough damage that the movie studios are getting desperate. Hasbro COO Brian Goldner says Hasbro is in negotiations with Ridley Scott to produce and direct a film-version of the popular board game “Monopoly”. This is not a joke. Hasbro just struck a six-year strategic partnership with Universal Pictures to produce at least four feature films based on some of Hasbro’s best-known game and toy brands. Yikes!
With the next Toy Story movie fully green lit by Disney and Pixar comes some very fun plot details. According to the Wall Street Journal, Woody, voiced by Tom Hanks, and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college and must survive little grubby baby hands. The studio will re-release Disney Digital 3-D versions of “Toy Story” on “October 2nd 2009″ and “Toy Story 2″ on February 12th 2010 to celebrate the 3D-produced third film’s release on June 18th 2010.
107 minutes of probably one of the saddest and most depressing movies I have ever seen…followed by 10 minutes of pure joy and satisfaction that made all of the 107 minutes worth it. Will Smith delivers, yet again, one of his defining performances in this heartfelt story about a Dad’s total and desperate pursuit of happiness for him and his son, played by Will Smith’s real life son Jaden.
Movie News: Slashfilm has a cleaned up version of the new G.I. Joe logo for the new movie that is coming out in Summer of 2009. Critically, I don’t think it’ll be the most compelling story, but the little boy inside of me can’t wait to see this movie!
Movie News: It’s been reported by AICN that Ryan Reynolds is suiting up to play anti-hero Deadpool in the upcoming 20th Century Fox movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” This movie is going to be awesome and I really am looking forward to seeing it.
The performance and likability of little movie star Abigail Breslin is what made this movie watchable. If this movie didn’t have her in it, I wouldn’t have thought twice about seeing it. Aside from Abigail’s performance, this was just another romantic comedy that failed to ignite any real romance…or comedy for that matter.
